dot & lil was founded by two sisters, anne and rosemary dardick. what started out as a winter project snowballed into what is today a handcrafted bath and beauty company operating in downtown montréal. to answer a question that is asked at every craft fair and in many emails, the name "dot & lil" is inspired by dorothy and lillian gish, who were movie star sisters from the silent era. you can read more about them at the dorothy and lillian gish prize website.
in 2009 rosemary left dot & lil to pursue other artistic goals. dot & lil keeps anne very busy since everything is handcrafted! painstaking research and development goes into each and every product we make and every decision we take. handcrafting is very important to us not only as a philosophy for bath and body but in general, and so we support other handcrafters and artisans. creating high quality, beautiful, effective and artistic items for everyday use is our mission at dot & lil.
